　　Three passions, simple but overwhelmingly strong, have governed my life: the longing for love, the search for knowledge, and unbearable pity for the suffering of mankind. These passions, like great winds, have blown me hither and thither(到处) , in a wayward(任性的，不规则的) course, ove r a deep ocean of anguish, reaching to the very verge of despair.

I have sought it, finally, because in the union of love I have seen, in a mystic miniature, the prefiguring vision of the heaven that saints and poets have imagined. This is what I sought, and though it might seem too good for human life, this is what- at last- I have found.

　　With equal passion I have sought knowledge. I have wished to understand the hearts of men. I have tried to apprehend(理解) the Pythagorean power by which number holds sway above the flu. A little of this, but not much, I have achieved.

　　Love and knowledge, so far as they were possible, led upward toward the heavens. But always pity brought me back to earth. Echoes of cries of pain reverberate(回想，反响) in my heart. Children in famine, victims tortured by oppressors, helpless old people a hated burden to their sons, and the whole world of loneliness, poverty, and pain make a mockery of what human life should be. I long to alleviate the evil, but I cannot, and I too suffer.

　　This has been my life. I have found it worth living, and would gladly live it again if the chance were offered me.

　　Jerry was the kind of guy you love to hate. He was always in a good mood and always had something positive to say. When someone would ask him how he was doing, he would re*, "If I were any better, I would be twins!"

　　He was a unique manager because he had several waiters who had followed him around from restaurant to restaurant. The reason the waiters followed Jerry was because of his attitude. He was a natural motivator. If an employee was having a bad day, Jerry was there telling the employee how to look on the positive side of the situation.

　　Seeing this style really made me curious, so one day I went up to Jerry and asked him, "I don't get it! You can't be a positive person all of the time. How do you do it?"

　　Jerry replied, "Each morning I wake up and say to myself, "Jerry, you have two choices today. You can choose to be in a good mood or you can choose to be in a bad mood." I choose to be in a good mood. Each time something bad happens, I can choose to be a victim or I can choose to learn from it. I choose to learn from it. Every time someone comes to me complaining, I can choose to accept their complaining or I can point out the positive side of life. I choose the positive side of life."

　　"Yeah, right, it's not that easy," I protested."Yes, it is," Jerry said. "Life is all about choices. When you cut away all the junk, every situation is a choice. You choose how you react to situations. You choose how people will affect your mood. You choose to be in a good mood or bad mood. The bottom line: It's your choice how you live life."

　　I reflected on(仔细考虑) what Jerry said. Soon thereafter, I left the restaurant industry to start my own business. We lost touch, but I often thought about him when I made a choice about life instead of reacting to it.

　　Several years later, I heard that Jerry did something you are never supposed to do in a restaurant business: he left the back door open one morning and was held up at gunpoint by three armed robbers. While trying to open the safe his hand, shaking from nervousness, slipped off the combination. The robbers panicked and shot him.

　　Luckily, Jerry was found relatively quickly and rushed to the local trauma(创伤) center. After 18 hours of surgery and weeks of intensive care, Jerry was released from the hospital with fragments of the bullets still in his body.

　　I saw Jerry about six months after the accident. When I asked him how he was, he replied, "If I were any better, I"d be twins. Wanna see my scars?" I declined to see his wounds, but did ask him what had gone through his mind as the robbery took place.

　　"The first thing that went through my mind was that I should have locked the back door," Jerry replied. "Then, as I lay on the floor, I remembered that I had two choices: I could choose to live, or I could choose to die. I chose to live."

　　"Weren't you scared? Did you lose consciousness(知觉) ?" I asked.Jerry continued, "The paramedics(护理人员) were great. They kept telling me I was going to be fine. But when they wheeled me into the emergency room and I saw the expressions on the faces of the doctors and nurses, I got really scared. In their eyes, I read, "He's a dead man." "I knew I needed to take action."

　　"What did you do?" I asked."Well, there was a big, burly nurse shouting questions at me," said Jerry."She asked if I was allergic to anything. "Yes," I replied. The doctors and nurses stopped working as they waited for my re*. I took a deep breath and yelled, "Bullets!"

　　Over their laughter, I told them. "I am choosing to live. Operate on me as if I am alive, not dead."Jerry lived thanks to the skill of his doctors, but also because of his amazing attitude. I learned from him that every day we have the choice to live fully.Attitude, after all, is everything.

　　A couple,John and Mary,had two lovely children.John had just been asked to go on a business trip and would be gone for several days.Mary would go along too.They hired a reliable woman to care for children and made the trip,returning home a little earlier than they had planned.

　　As they drove into their home town feeling glad to be back,they noticed smoke,and they went off their usual route to see what it was.They found a home in flames.Mary said,”Oh,well, it isn’t our fire,let’s go home.”

　　But John drove closer and exclaimed, “That home belongs to Fred Jones who works at the plant.He wouldn’t be off work yet,maybe there is something we could do. ” “It has nothing to do with us, ”protested Mary.

　　But John drove up and stopped and they were both horror stricken to see the whole house in flames.A woman on the lawn was in hysterics screaming, “The children!Get the children! ”John grabbed her by the shoulder saying, “Get a hold of yourself and tell us where the children are! ”“In the basement, ”sobbed the woman,”down the hall and to the left. ”

　　In spite of Mary’s protests John bolted for the basement which was full of smoke and scorching hot.He found the door and two children.As he left he could hear some more whimpering.He delivered the two badly frightened and nearly suffocated children into waiting arms and started back asking how many more children were down there.They told him two more and Mary grabbed his arm and screamed, “John!Don’t go back!It’!That house will cave in any second. ”

　　《英语课程标准》指出：学生的发展是英语课程的出发点和归宿。英语课程在目标设定、教学过程、课程评价和教学资源的开发等方面都要突出以学生为主体的思想。

　　笔者认为，树立“对话”意识，运用新课程理念备好课是基础和前提。

　　一、与教材对话：源于教材，高于教材

　　每一套教材都代表着某一种教学理念和实践方法，教师在使用一套新教材之时，应站在编者的角度钻研全套教材，努力理解和领会教材编写者的教学思想和设计精神，把握教材的特点，使之在我们的教学中得以充分体现。与教材对话，首先要尊重教材，读透教材;与教材对话，更要超越教材，走向生活。我们不妨尝试“一课三案”：钻研教材，独立思考，形成“初案”;博采众长，融会贯通，写出“教案”;课后反思，精益求精，补充“另案”。

　　江苏版的《牛津小学英语》教材按照话题——功能——结构的体例编写，在备课时，我们可着力于话题生活化，功能结构协调化。在“初案”中，我们应该重点研读教材，明确教学语言与语境语言，把握关键语句与困难语句;在“教案”形成阶段，我们应分析语用因素，结合师情学情，选择设计各环节活动：课后，结合教学实际再回头看自己的教材解读，及时补充“另案”必不可少。“另案”中，可以反思一节课对教材处理的成功之举、败笔之处、学生感受，当然，对教材的“再教设计”是最终目的。我们对教材的研读应该追求从“有它无我”到“有它有我”，最后达到“有我无它”的洒脱境界。

　　二、与学生对话：关注学情，真心真意

　　学生是学*的主人，我们的“教”应该为学生的“学”服务。在备课时，教师还应该时时在心中与学生对话，在与学生充分对话的基础上进行的备课活动才能真正体现学生的学*主体地位。

　　“你对这个话题了解了多少?”——牛津小学英语每一个单元都有一个话题。在我们设计新单元的教学时，这个问题可以提示我们尊重学生的已有经验，关注学生的学*基础，在学生已知已会的基础之上设计教学内容，把属于学生的时间还给学生。

　　“通过这节课你将学到什么?你是怎么学的?还可以学得更好吗?”——新课程呼唤我们的教学从知识本位回归到三维目标。这一连串问题指向的就是一节课中知识与技能、方法与过程、情感态度与价值观的目标达成。长期以来，我们的英语教学一直比较关注学生对英语知识的掌握情况，忽略了学生学*过程中的感受及体验。其实，真正的有效教学就是要让学生从浅层次的“学会”上升到“会学”与“乐学”，这样的学*才会让学生的终身学*获益。

　　在备课过程中，我们还要结合教材内容。预设大量的与学生的对话。在这个过程中，我们要注意与学生的对话交流必须付出真心真情。教师真心真意对待学生，才能让孩子们之间真心真意，课堂才会真实。这些年的英语教学实践证明，我们已经从期待表演的、热闹的、师生对答如流的课堂转变为期待真实的课堂和真实的交流。真实的教学问题、自然的教学过程、和谐的教学氛围才能最大程度地促进学生综合语言运用能力的形成。

　　三、与自己对话：勤于反思，勇于实践

　　作为教师，我们是否有勇气常常与自己对话，反思自己教学实践过程中的不足并及时加以弥补呢?叶澜先生曾经说过：“一个教师写一辈子教案不一定成为名师，如果一个教师写三年反思可能成为名师。”

　　课外活动是教学的一种辅助组织形式，是课堂教学的集成和深入。因此，有效的布置这类作业，有助于教学质量的提高。根据课外活动及英语学科的特点，布置此类作业有以下几种形式。

　　(1)英语歌曲

　　唱歌能陶冶人的情操，优美的旋律能带给人欢乐，绝大数学生喜欢唱歌。经典的英文老歌“edelweiss”，家喻户晓的影视名曲“my heart will go on”无不令人陶醉，而最受学生欢迎的要数流行歌曲了，s.h.e，f4一首首好听的英语歌曲，使他们感觉新鲜、刺激。因此，学生常常使积极主动地去听去学，自己自觉地练。所以布置这样的作业时要允许学生自由选择，选择了自己感兴趣的英文歌曲，他们便经常唱，反复唱。这样，他们能在体验音乐美感的同时，不自觉地复*或学*一些单词、句型，从而提高了他们的记忆能力和英语学*的兴趣。为了提高学生学*英语的积极性，我们可举办英文歌曲演唱会，让学生登台演出，体验成功的喜悦，参与的乐趣。

　　(2)英语竞赛

　　每个人都有自己的长处，面向全体学生，充分发挥不同学生的长处组织各种竞赛，这又是课外活动型作业的一种形式。组织此项活动可以以年级为单位，形式有英语书法比赛、听力比赛、演讲比赛、猜词比赛、智力问答、脑筋急转弯等等。因此此类作业形式生动有趣，学生会以极大的热情积极准备，教师应组织评为认真评定，评出集体奖和个人奖，对学生的成绩予以表彰。此项活动可以发展学生的智力和个性，展现他们的才华。

　　(3)英语角

　　为了给学生创造英语语言环境，我们还可以给学生布置这样的作业，即每周参加英语角活动。在学校文化氛围较浓厚的走廊花架处设立“英语角”的活动场所，在其入口的醒目位置竖立“welcome to our english conner”等标牌。这样的布置立刻使学生感受到一种说英语的氛围，给学生创立了一个仿真的口语交际与应用环境。有时侯还可以根据需要和条件邀请外籍教师来校参观与英语角的活动。学生可以在英语角大声背诵课文中的小诗、绕口令、儿歌;或根据老师确定的主题小组交谈或是进行辩论赛。还可用英语与老师和同学自由地交流思想，交流学*。英语角的活动使学生在语言运用中不知不觉地获得了英语知识和技能，口语交际能力大大提高了。这种语言环境的营造可使学生体会到学英语有趣，学英语有用，英语容易学。

　　(4)听英语广播，看樱花雨电视节目

　　课本的知识再多也是有限的，而我们的周围英语无处不在，电视里有丰富多彩的英语节目，cctv channel 5的球赛转播，cctv channel 6周二的原声影院，引人入胜的discovery，与中学生同步的outlook，还有收音机里的英语新闻，只要我们稍加布置和引导，这些英语就会展现在学生们的面前。因为学生感兴趣，所以这是一类不用监督也一定会出色完成的作业形式。

　　(5)英语表演

　　为了培养学生的综合素质，我们还可以布置英语表演型作业。可让学生自编、自演，也可以让学生把一些经典的课本剧搬上舞台，如学生们熟悉的童话剧《灰姑娘》《白雪公主》，还有著名作家的文学作品，《项链》《麦琪的礼物》等。学生在这项活动中自己设计台词、表演、动作、服装、道具、舞台背景、灯光等，使他们各方面的才华得到充分的展示。

　　总之，多种形式的课外活动型作业，贴*自然、贴*生活、贴*社会，在一定程度上弥补了课堂教学的不足，丰富了学生的课余生活，是整个英语教学过程的一个有机组成部分，与英语课堂教学密切有关，是实现英语教学目的的重要途径之一。它保护了学生的好奇心，培养了他们的自主性和创新意识，激发了学生学*英语的积极性。

　　对于一名教师来说什么是爱岗敬业呢，在《中小学教师职业道德规范》中第二条是这样说明的热爱教育、热爱学校，尽职尽责、教书育人，注意培养学生具有良好的思想品德。认真备课上课，认真批改作业，不敷衍塞责，不传播有害学生身心健康的思想。它是一个标准更像是一个方向标。这让我想起了一则故事：有人问三个砌砖的工人：你们在做什么呢？第一个工人没好气地嘀咕：你没看见吗，我正在砌墙啊。 第二个工人有气无力地说：嗨，我正在做一项每小时9美元的工作呢。第三个工人哼着小调，欢快地说：你问我啊朋友，我不妨坦白告诉你，我正在建造这世界上最伟大的教堂！这也许就是问题的症结。有些人，不知道尊重自己的工作。他们把工作视作取得面包、衣服、房子的一种讨厌的需要，一种无可避免的苦役。而在一个人将他的工作视为苦役与痛苦时，他是决不能在工作上竭尽所能的。爱眼下的工作吧，选择了做教师，就努力做一名像斯霞一样的人民教师。也许不能像她那样成功，但只要我们努力了就不愧教师这个称谓了。

　　一个人的工作态度折射着人生态度，而人生态度决定一个人一生的成就。我们的工作，就是我们的生命的投影。它的美与丑、可爱与可憎，全操纵于我们的手中。人们常说：教师是红烛，牺牲了自己，照亮了别人；教师是人梯，让别人踩着自己的肩头攀*煌；老师是艄公，把一批批的学生送达理想的彼岸。这些都是对教师这个职业的赞许，但同时也强调了教师的*凡。教师这个岗位是*凡的，一个人选择了教师这个职业，同时也就选择了*凡和奉献，在芸芸众生中，他*凡得像银河里的一颗星，大海里的一滴水。在他的一生中，也许不会干出什么轰轰烈烈的大事业，然而，只在真正做过教师的人，只有把自己热情和精力投入到教育事业中去的人，才能真正体会到作为一名教师的幸福。

　　作为一名面临新课程改革的英语教师，为了更好地跟上课改的潮流，适应新的教学改革，要不断更新自己的教学理念，提高自己的教育教学水*。

　　*期认真研读了《初中英语新课标》一书后，深有感触，我知道了要防止强调模仿、死记硬背、机械操练的教学倾向，重视科学地设计教学过程，努力创设真实的问题情境，营造启动学生思维的教学环境，为学生提供丰富的学*资源，帮助学生通过各种渠道获取知识，加速知识的内化过程，使他们能够在听、说、读、写等语言交际活动中灵活运用知识，变语言知识为英语交际的工具。所以从根本上改变面貌学*方式，保证学生自主性、探究性的学*，已成为新课程改革的突破口。而教师教学行为的变化和学生学*方式的改变也被视为新课程改革是否成功的标志。因此，在目前状况下，积极倡导初中英语有意义学*的思想，深刻领会有意义学*的概念、一般特征和实施条件，对于引发初中学生英语学*方式的革新、教师教学方式的改变，进而推进基础教育向纵深发展有着深远的现实意义。

　　依据意义学*的基本理论，初中英语的有意义学*应具有以下四个特征：

　　1、学*具有个人参与的性质，即要把整个人的认知和情感都投入到学*活动之中。

　　2、学*是自我发起的，学*者由于内在的愿望而主动去探索、发现和了解事件的意义。

　　3、学*是渗透性的。它会使学生的行为、态度，乃至个性都发生变化。

　　4、学*是由学生自我评价的。学生最清楚某种学*的方式是否满足自己的需要，是否有助于得到他想要的东西，是否弄明白了自己原先不甚清楚的知识。

　　为了帮助学生开展有意义学*，促成学生自我发展和自我实现，本学期在初中英语教学中我从以下几个方面做了尝试。

　　一、导入要新颖

　　俗话说：“良好的开端是成功的一半”。上课也一样。教师的循循诱导，能让学生产生强烈的求知欲和好奇心，从而更积极主动地参加课堂教学，为整节课的成功作准备。可以采用以下几种导入：⒈歌曲导入。⒉设置悬念。当然导入很多，教学中不能单一的用一种导入，也许这种导入刚开始学生觉得很有劲，但天天用学生就会厌倦了。所以教师设计时要多多新颖，多多改变，尽量多样性。

　　二、创设情景，多用直观教学

　　由于初学生年龄较小，生活经验不丰富，知识范围有限，决定了他们对直观、新颖、有趣的材料容易理解和接受。作为一个初中英语教师表情要丰富，如果表情呆滞，语言*淡，学生就不能全身心投入学*中。所以在课堂上，老师需要生动地表演，丰富的表情，使学生进入一个童话世界。在制作教具时可让学生自己动手画、动手做。在教学中要用到的图片，可以提早几天布置下去，当他们的作品被运用在课堂上时，学生们都很兴奋。这样使学生体会到成功的喜悦也激发了学英语的兴趣。此外画图片，也培养了学生的绘画能力，也可让他们熟悉一下将要学的新知识，一举多得。

　　三、运用多种教学方式使学生“玩学结合”

　　爱玩都是学生的天性。教师在课前充分利用教材内容，精心设计一系列知识性、趣味性强的听、说、读、写教学游戏，使学生边玩游戏边学*，在丰富多彩的游戏中接受英语，喜欢英语，达到“玩与学”相结合的目的。在小学英语书上有许多单词要记住，这就得通过让学生在各种游戏中慢慢学*单词，而不是死记硬背。我们要掌握的单词以卡片、图片、头饰、动作等各种不同形式展现给学生，通过各种游戏进行渗透。

　　四、鼓励学生的合作性，对学生进行有效的评价

　　英语是一门实践性、操作性很强的学科，新课程核心理念就是参与、合作。通过合作性学*，使学生相互学*，相互帮助。合作精神是培养情感态度的一个重要内容，教师要在教学中特意设计相关活动以培养学生的合作精神。在合作内容上，多给他们创造的空间；在合作形式上，讲求变化。把不同层次不同风格的学生分成一组，让他们自己选出组长。在组长的带领下，进行预*、学*、复*、巩固，还可以做一些和学*有关的游戏，然后把结果由组长整理归纳后呈现给老师，老师再与学生们一起共同学*、操练。

　　评价可以使学生认识自我，树立自信，有助于反思及调整自己的学*过程，对学生回答学*过程中的表现进行及时的评价，如有口头评价、等级评价、学生之间互相评价等方法，充分发觉学生的进步，鼓励学生自我反思，自我提高，以学生综合运用能力为目标，侧重于学生理解和获取信息，通过评价学生学会分析自己的成绩和不足，明确努力方向。

　　在目前教育改革与发展产生深刻剧变的关键时期，以英语新课程理念为指导，加强对初中生英语学*观念、行为的研究与剖析，着力改革和完善初中生的英语学*方式，努力构建符合新课程改革目标要求的有意义学*理论与实践体系，对优化学生英语学*和促进英语新课程改革取得实质性进展，都显得极为迫切和重要。而初中英语教学的关键在于让学生喜欢学*英语，激发他们的求知欲望，从而促使他们主动地学*英语。作为教师，在今后的教学中，我们要运用各种教学手段和方法培养学生的学*兴趣、挖掘学*潜能，让学生在最优环境中学*英语，感悟英语，触摸英语，让他们在学中找到乐趣，在愉悦中学到知识，在学*中永远有动力。
